How do you apply for a marriage liscense?

I am getting married in August. How and where do you go to apply for a marriage liscence? Also how long before your wedding do you need to apply?

It may vary from state to state but you apply at your local court house - they can tell you how long before. I'm not sure if each state requires a blood test anymore or not. Oklahoma charges a cheaper fee for a license if you attend couples counseling (minimal hours) prior to registering.

Google "marriage license in <City, State>"; this should give you some info. Usually it's some sort of a government office like a county recorder clerk's office. In CA, a marriage license is good for 90 days, it might be 60 in some states - you'll have to check. Congrats.

well here in our state you have to apply 76 hrs before the wedding and you have 30 days to use the license before it expires. You go to the court house to buy it and you and your fiance will have to have your licenses with you when you go to get it and will both have to sign papers.
