Why cant woman put their mascara on with their mouth closed?

I never open my mouth when applying,I don't feel the urge to do so.But then again I'm a girl not a woman.

You know what, my daughter comments on that all the time. Why, she asks me, do I make these weird faces when I put on my makeup? And I tell her, I don't know. What's the big deal, anyhow!!

and also, some women do it because when they open there mouth wide like that, it pulls their skin makking their eyes open wider, therefore, making it easier to out the mascara on.....but its also a habit

I was just asking myself the other day, then I shut my mouth and did it. But I think its a habit and who really cares. Make up to me is personal.

We can, but an open mouth helps to open the eyes more, making it easier to put on mascara. To test this, look in a mirror, raise your eyebrows (I do this, anyway) and open your mouth. Look at how much it opens the eye area. Anyway, most women do it without thinking about it.

Thats a myth, cuz I can do it. But supposedly its because it helps steady your hand or something like that. But I really can do it with my mouth shut - so there - lol.

I believe its just an instinct movement, probably having to do with muscles. But most people can put it on with their mouths closed.
