Does wearing makeup give women more confidence?

I'm speaking about the importance of good skin care and feeling good abour yourself. I have heard research quoted saying that even a little makeup gives women more confidence. Wondered if anyone had any specific numbers.

it always depends i guess, it can make plp feel beautiful which can make them confident.

i think it does, to some extent. i feel like people look at me more and they feel like i made an effort to look nicer than usual. also,when i wear makeup, i feel like my eyes are wide open, so i tend to do more than when i on't wear it. probably because i like to go natural on my days off, and i think about relaxing at that time as well.

8 out of 10 women will say that wearing makeup makes them feel more confident. Because they feel that they look more beautiful. But what is it really doing to their skin? Its covering up pores ect. that cause acne, then you are in one big cycle of covering up with make-up to rid the visibility of the blemishes forever trying to feel more confident!

It makes me feel more confident. If i leave the house without make-up, i feel ugly. I know thats bad to say but im just not confident without any make-up on.

I only put make up on for special occasion, like nice dinner, party and clubbing... I do feel more sexy (=confident) when I put make up on.

I don't like to put a little makeup because I don't like to remove makeup... but I still feel confident without little makeup.

no it doesn't all it does is clog your pores and causes acne to get worse i advise you to go natrual and wear no make up because all it does is damage your skin nd make you look old,do you know what they test them on?trust me you don't want to know.

p.s it is not healthy for your skin and men like women who don't wear make up.

It does for me when I wear it. It makes me feel more polished and put-together.

If you know how to put makeup on correctly....highlighting bone structure, eye colour, hair it can make you look like a real knock out. If you look good, you will feel good. Picture some of the famous models in magazines. Now have you ever seen some of them with the make up off. The make up along with the camera can do wonders.

It always makes me feel the opposite of confident cuz ur not showing who you really are. I mean, a little is okay but I never feel confident.

Haha, funny question. I am very masculin, but I assume that it does, or might becuase they feel like they are hiding behind somthing, and knowbody can see all their pimples or anything. Or maybe they just feel like wearing stuff to make them pretty. Who knows?! lol

i feel really pretty when i wear makeup. but the truth is i feel prettiest sometimes when i dont have it on. i met a really nice guy and we casually liked eachother and it was when i didnt have any makeup. and thats the time when i felt the prettiest in my whole life.

it could make them more confident depending on how pretty they feel, if they really like how they look then they will be more confident
just plain makeup won't make you more confident though, ..you have to love how it looks on you

I don't wear makeup at all. And i feel good about myself. It is not the real you if you cover up your face with makeup.
