How can you prevent energy thieves in your home?

One little thing that I do, unplug the charger unit , for cell phone , or camera., because it is drawing electricity when not in use. What are some things you do?

Want to see your power bills drop dramatically? Do this. I did and was so happy.

1. Stop using the dryer. Hang them up to dry overnight on clotheslines.

2. Dont use the dishwasher. Use your hands to wash the dishes.

3. Turn off the freezer. Shop at the supermarket for fresher food.
Use them as your freezer.

4. Pull the plugs out of the TVs and microwaves. The standbys eats up power big time.

Actually no they are not.

Eectricity must flow and without the phone being plugged in there is no flow.

Don;t believe me, check your adaptor after a couple of hours of being plugged into the wall, but not the phone. It isn;t hot is it? That means no electricity is being used

When not at home and you're going to be away for several hours just pay a visit to your breaker box and turn off all that are not used while you are out. It is possible to cut your energy bill drastically

Make sure your windows are sealed pretty good. The heat coming in can waste alot of the air condition in you place.

This way of thinking is energy thief to the brain.

Live in a shack

Turn down your a/c, turn off your computer when not in use, turn down fridge/freezer temperature setting, don't use your stove to boil water use an electric kettle

1. Use flourescent bulbs, they consume less energy than normal bulbs.
2. I always "air dry" my dishes.
3. I try to fill both my dishwasher or washing machine before running a load.
4. Check weatherstripping.

I keep the AC on 83 degrees. I switch off the water heater and only turn it on for an hour or two a day.

Turn off all lights, T.V's etc. when you leave a room and and turn your Thermostat down 2 degrees
