Is there another way to solve my inground pool leak?

I have a pool that was made in the mid-70's. My bottom drain is leaking quite bad and is 9 and a half feet down. Tunnelling down and under it is not an option for me. Is there such a thing as taking some sort of flexible tubing and snaking it through? Or perhaps you have a better idea? I've been just using the skimmer and that's not working out well. Also, the leak is too large for stop leak to work.

Drain the pool some so you can work on the drain. Purchase a product called 'herculeese' epoxy putty from a plumbing supply store. Use it according to the directions and it will seal around the drain even underwater.

Well I would at least call a pool expert in for an idea of how to fix it...pick his brain a bit and go from there. If that is the bottom drain, I would think you will have to drain the pool completely to repair it properly. Undermining the soil underneath should be an issue.....major cracks can occur if that happens.

Snaking a new smaller tube will not solve the problem. First it would be very hard to get it to make the turns that are in the pipe. Second, the seal would not be enough to stop the leak. And finally, the leak would continue to wet the ground and allow it the undermine the support for the pool.

If you try the first suggestion and it does not work, it will take a pool installer to repair it. Sorry.
