How do I get a bad oil stain out from my driveway? |
I have a decent size gas pressure washer. It works ok. Is there any kind of degreaser or chemical out there that will clean stains, and some rust, and to overall "whiten" the driveway? witch;s brew~ kidding~ Look for a good emulsifier and some Tide, water and a stiff bristle push broom. Scrub and let it it sit for while, scrub it again then rinse. This will look good for time, but you must know oil stain sink deep into concrete. This procedure will more than likely have to be repeated. Good luck. NEXT TIME YOU GET AN OIL SPILL, PUT KITTY LITTER ON IT FOR ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES, SWEEP AWAY AND SCRUB A LITTLE WITH A MIXTURE OF WARM WATER AND BLEACH, THAT WAY YOU WILL NOT HAVE A NOTICABLE STAIN. there are products for that, go to Autozone or Napa and ask for it. Muriatic Acid works. You need to be careful when applying it. Don't use pour it from a great height. You need to pour it slowly and make sure it doesn't splatter or it will burn you. Wear rubber boots if you have them. I always used kitty litter to clean up oil and grease off my drive way. I assume your driveway is concrete? Just put kitty litter on the stain and crush and rub it in with your foot (with your shoes on). Then you can use your washer to wash it all away. You may have to do this a few times. It should do the trick. It always worked for me. Another idea is to work some greaseless hand clener into the oil or grease spill with a scrub brush or stiff wire brush, then use the kitty litter, then wash it off. This really should do it for you. take a dump on it Pour enough baking soda on the stain to absorb the excess. Get some Goof Off at Wal-Mart and tackle it with an old toothbrush. Rinse with the pressure washer and that should take care of it. mhhhh - after youve put cat litter on it for a day to dry up the excess i would pour mean grean cleaner on it then scrub with a hard bristled brush ( like the one for your car tires or grill ) then try to pressure wash it - I think bleach might work. |
