What causes a blue liquid to come out of the plug end of my older electric knife cord?

This has happened to several plug-ins that I have owned. How can there be blue liquid inside the plug-in? Is it some kind of disintegration of the copper wiring?

The blue green color is from copper oxide. There must have been moisture and a small amount of oil on the contacts and it caused some oxidation.

I have no answer but "get rid of the appliance."

Something is WRONG.

It's bleeding get a band aid. Did it cut it's self or did you do it? You ought to be ashamed!

The blue stuff is copper oxide and obviously, you have gotten moisture ini the plug by letting the plug lay on a countertop with water or something similar

your cords are wearing out and should be replaced if you can. they are breaking down and could create a fire hazard. time to upgrade and move on

Should not be anything in th plug end, it is molded rubber. Sounds like it is getting too hot, and disintegrating. If this is all occurring in the same house, you may have a serious electrical problem, probably old wiring or misfused outlets.
