What is causing my hot and cold pipes to bang?

After replacing a shower fixture I now hear a banging when the water is turned on and off for both hot and cold. Water arrestors have been installed but they haven't stopped the noise. The sink in the bathroom as well as the toilet create the same sound. The pipes don't seem to be loose either.

An air cushion can fill with water. To restore the air to all air chambers, turn off the main shutoff valve and completely drain the water -supply system. Open all faucets to let air in. Then close the faucets and turn the water on again. This will replace the air in the water arrestors to cushion the rushing water when a valve is opened or closed.

Plumbing within a wall cavity may be loose between ceiling or floor plates...pipes should be stabelized about every 18 inches. The only thing to do is remove sheetrock...stabelize pipes with straps or 2x4 set sideways snug aginst pipes. Sometimes you can change the pressure of the shutoff valve and help stabalize vibration as well.... good luck.
