As a black woman, what hair product can help dye my hair blonde?

I have good hair, because I've colored my hair with permanent color 3x (I haven't damaged my hair) and cut my hair super short and it grew all back after one year. So now I am think of doing something new by dying my hair blonde. A color just like keyshia coles!!

Lightening dark hair is the most difficult of the color changes. It does the most damage of any of the hair color changes. For this type of service we strongly recommend a professional hairdresser! However, If you are intent on trying it yourself, here is what you can expect. Hair grows 1/2 inch per month (on average) so your dark roots will show in one week and will need a touchup by two weeks.

Your hair will need to be bleached twice to achieve this color change. The first bleach will leave the hair a nasty shade of orange. The hair must then be dried completely and the second bleach applied. When the hair reaches pale yellow, the bleach must be removed. If you attempt to continue bleaching beyond this point, your hair may melt and break. Some hair is too dark to be bleached successfully before complete breakage occurs. An experienced hairdresser can usually tell this by examining your hair.

When the hair is lifted to a pale yellow, a toner may then be applied achieve a platinum shade (usually a toner with a blue or blue violet base). The scalp may burn and get blisters after two bleach processes. A good hairdresser can avoid this and perhaps would even suggest a color "weave" for you, to lighten your hair without such a root maintenance schedule.

Dont dye your hair. if you want it to be pretty and healthy, leave if alone. the damage may not be visible but trust me, it soon will be....once you dye it!

There are also products specially for African hair, forgot the brand, and they sell them in stores that carry mostly hair and skin care and cosmetics for African women - the lightest there is called champagne blond, sort of straw/light tan kind of color.

There is also Revlon kit - I think those are the strongest.

I'm white but my hair's very dark brown, and I really wanted to dye my hair blond just for change, and I didn't want to pay money for a salon.... Let me tell you, the first time I did it, my hair came out this unbelievable bright orange/yellow color and I had to wear a scarf to work for a couple days till I dyed it again... It really is hard to dye very dark hair into blond - but hey it's fun to try. The nice thing is, once you bleach it, you can then go and do something else - like purple or burgundy or some other such thing.
Playing with hair color is a lot of fun. Just be careful - you do not want to produce an impression on the job like you're flaky - which sometimes happens when you mess with you hair too much.

im white, so i dont have the same hair texture as you but what i can tell you is not to expect to go from black to blonde in one sitting. it may take 2 or 3 times. your hair will turn a blondish orange first, then 2nd or 3rd time you should be blonde. thats even if you do it with bleach.

I would go to a salon the first time so they can make sure it doesnt turn orange. Then you will most likely be able to touch it at home yourself. I have a dark brown hair and tried going to blonde. It turned out to be a very ugly orange. So be careful with at home products.

i have had one too many mess up when it comes to dying my hair. One that resulted in it falling out. Am assuming that you have dark brown to black hair and to reach an evenly blonde color, it would be best to have it professionally done.
