I鈥檓 an African American woman with short hair and would like to grow it out just a little.?

What is some good shampoo and conditioner I can buy to help it grow stronger and healthier. I've been using Dr. Miracle product.

well im a black woman as well and i had the same problem! i use carol's daughter products. jada pinkett uses it and it works fantastic on my hair. i used to used dr. miracles but i couldnt stand the smell. i now use the hair elixir and shampoo and conditioner. you should definitely give it a try!

you can use like a mint shampoo... (i know this sounds crazy but...) if you smell a shampoo and it smells like really minty that help the hair grow BECAUSE... your hair grows better with scalp stimulation and that mint in the shampoo stimulates your scalp. also do not use relazers ( i dunno if you was plannin on it or not) that are sooo bad for your hair.. if you have to get the hottest flat iron and straighten your hair but a relaxer would damage it 20 X that... make sure if you are applying any heat to the hair you put a good heat protectant on it.. my friend uses that PINK stuff for the african american hair and her hair was really healthy.. braiding does help the hair grow because it is constantly pulling on the scalp and that is another scalp stmulation thing... hope this helps!

To be honest, the shampoos and conditioners are great, but no more chemicals, not saying you use any. Don't pull your hair back, or if you do, don't use a hard bristle brush and pull. It thins the hairline. Don't use hard grease products like murrays, even though I like it, it clogs the pores. If you want to straighten you hair, go the old fashion way......a light oil(pressing oil) and a hot comb. Condition your hair and sit under the dryer so it can seap into your pores. My mom use to use Aquamarine. Raise your metabolism my running the adrenaline spurs growth. Oh yeah Glovers Maine.....it stinks, but watch your pores tingle(stimulation)

Coming from a black girl:
1. Trim your hair- your hair can't grow if the edges are damages
2.Get deep conditioning and oil treatments often-this keeps hair healthy
3.Don't use heavy relaxers or color products
4.Pantene Relaxed and Natural Hair Care Line is amazing!

I'm not sure of any shampoos to make your hair grow, but take Hair, Skin, and Nail Vitamins, and after your hair has grown out, Long Term Relationship by Herbal Essences keeps it strong to prevent breakage.

I heard braiding can help by preventing breakage. Summer is coming and is a perfect time to go with a braid 'do. Once you take the braids out wala, slightly longer hair.
