How can i make my plants in my garden grow better?

I have cucumbers, corn, watermelon, tomatoes, cantalope, onions, red, yellow and green peppers, jalapenos, and cayan peppers, lima beans, strawberries which where planted teh 2nd week in may and have not came up at all. all of these things were planted the 2nd week in may, my neighbor and friends are all grown up and mine are barely growing, they are like all just 6-8 inches tall.

In our garden, we would water once real real good on days that it wasn't supposed to rain. Best in the morning, if not morning, then in the evening, no midday watering. I know it sounds corny but Miracle Gro plant food, the blue powder looking stuff that comes in bags with a little scoop, mix two tablespoons with two gallons of water in a watering can, water as usual, and you'll notice a dramatic difference in a week or so. Also, something we got from the Gurney's seed catalog, called "tricograma" or something like that. They're the perfect organic and extremely effective way to stop plant-eating insects from taking half of your harvest. They come on a small piece of paperboard about an inch square, which contains 10,000 or more eggs. It looks like sandpaper, but you place these small paper squares in your garden, and when the eggs hatch, they reach maturity very quickly, in a day or so, then lay their eggs on top of the eggs of the plant-eating insects, and when they hatch they feed on the young of the plant-eaters. Lol it sounds like something out of Jurassic Park but it works unbelievably well.

Good luck!

The quality of your soil is the most important thing. If it drains poorly, lacks nutrients, or is too sandy, or clay-ey, you're plants will struggle. Now that your plants are planted there's not much you can do in terms of double digging or adding amendments, you'll have to wait until after the growing season. Did you test your soil? You can buy soil testing kits for a few bucks at almost any chain store with a garden center. It may be something as simple as too little nitrogen, which is an easy fix. Most plants need about an inch of water per week, unless your soil is really sandy, then you'll need more, or really clay like, then less. Are they getting enough sunlight? Not that you can do anything to change that, at least this season. I would try giving them an organic food, like alaska fish emulsion or worm poop, both are pretty stinky, but effective and organic, weeding really well, carefully loosening the very top of the soil, and then mulching around the plants, I think compost is best because it has the added benefit of nutrition for your plants. Good luck. You could always ask your neighbors for advice, or go to your local county extension office, assuming you have one, wherever you are.

Hello

What you need is some orchard fretilizer for your plant`s. you can get it at a Nursery, just tell them that you need some fertilizer for your fruit trees at home. Tell them Peaches and nectarine trees. Then dont apply at the roots of the plants but on the side, and water them after 12 hours of applying, but be careful dont apply too much only small amount.

plants require a lot of water to grow , so water them in the morning if possible.

Use Miracle Grow.

plant food really works
