Why do people pick on me at school?

m shy to but i learned to kick it in the butt a bit. im not real outgoing. but i can be if i try. im nice to everyone too (or at least try), n im never the one to start a convo cuz of being verbally abused. i feel like i a lot dnt have the right to talk unless im spoken to or asked to join a group or convo (which actually was one of my rules being brought up in a partial italian family) so im socially awkward too. i like to be by myself a lot cuz i never fit in with anyone really growing up so im used to it even though i wish i did have ppl who liked me n didnt use me. but no theres nothing wrong with u. u just have it hard like me. bu if ur humble about it then u will come out greater than everyone else in the end. take me for example. all my "friends" cant find a job. I just got one a few days ago n theyre all mad n jealous cuz i have one n they dont n the loser who always got picked on is getting places before them. n it feels good to prove a point. And i think its cuz i humbled myself in being an outcast that got me there. cuz i dont have pride like they do which stops them from going beyond just thinking of themselves. its all good man. just dnt let that stuff bother you. sit by urself n stuff at school n dont talk with no one n watch all the ppl that feel sorry for you come to you n befriend you while they just have their little group. humbling urslef really works man trust me. be a outcast or whatever n be proud it will all work out in the end :)

I am male and 17 and in highschool and every day I am there I am always verbaly abused by someone. I am shy and quiet and extremely socialy akward I don't know what I have wrong with me but I think that there is. I am nice to everyone and then after I get to know them they act mean to me. I wonder what is wrong with me? I don't stand up for my self because I am never a violent person(only in videogames) but that's about it. I have odd social behavior but that's it. I would like to know what could be wrong with me socialy?

Sorry to hear that others are picking on you. It's never easy to deal with being bullied. Do others know how you have been feeling or what your going through? A lot of teenagers feel feel socially awkward at times. Everyone is different in their own sense and it's important to be comfortable in your own skin. perhaps,they are interested in you, you should ask it clearly!

These things will get you picked on.
1. Being unhygeinic.
2. Having really annoying mannerisms (clearing throat, sucking up snot, cleaning teeth etc.)
3. Being too eccentric with your style, at school I'm like "I get the point, you're goth no need for 23483205328 piercings on your face" (we wear uniform at my school)

If you don't do any of these things, you're probably just a really genuinely nice person who doesn't stand up for yourself. That's okay though, they'll see you're a good kid in no time :) Don't forget that high school does end and the real world is NOTHING like high school.

I used to be exactly the same way! I'm not as old, but I know what you mean. I used to be where no one wanted to talk to me and always picked on me.

It takes a lot of guts to say your not a good peoples person. What I've done is be myself. One of my guy friends (I'm a girl btw) told me: "if you can't impress the ones that you try to, impress the ones you know you can."
BE YOURSELF! if someone has a problem with you, then fine. But you're not going to want friends that are rude to you. That's not how you should live; tryin to impress those freaks. :) (and just ignore the comments from others. I know it's hard, jus try. An if you can't, take a stand! You'll be surprised.)
