How long should you wait for a good fried to return a phone call?

My friend has been going through some rocky times w/ her marriage & family. Last spoke with her at the end of July. Have tried to call her multiple times and simply get her voicemail and all messages have been unanswered. I don't know if she is getting them, it is a possibility that her husband is erasing them. I really worry about her. In feb she was battling an addiction and swore to me she was done with the drugs. Along with her I am concerned for her children. She lives several states away and I can't just pick up and go. Looking for advice. Please Help!!

Another part to this is that she is not talking to her family either. I called her mom and she will not return calls to her mom. She will call and let the children talk to grandma, but then she just hangs up when the children are finished talking.

How long?....it is depend on how good she is to you!

When she calls you will be just like me very happy to hear from my friend!! All those others who've answered this question, that I've read(didn't read them all) are idiots. When my friend calls I'll be very happy to hear from him or her. And so will you. I never give up on people. But; I'm not a Christan! I don't have an evil god to appease.

if you are really good friends, call her mom or call her at work and see if you get a call back. im in the same place you are but i haven't got a call back in Feb. so I give up on my friend of 13 years....if she is having troubles you might need to help her out, maybe she is afraid to turn to someone or her husband really is deleting the messages

Few days, depends on how hard you are to get a hold of and also how much time this person has.

Look its her life not yours. I know you care about her and shes your friend but theres nothing you can do for her. Only she can save herself. I also was on drugs during a time in my life and that takes over you completly you dont give a **** about anyone. I know you probably dont want to hear this but its true. Whatever is going to happen to her is whats going to happen face it. All you can do is pray. Trust me if she wanted to talk to you she would get a hold of you.

I agree that you have to call her family (it could be her mother, father, sisters, etc) and explain to them about the situation.
If we can not reach our best friend even though we know that she/he in danger, we could ask her/his family for help.

It's a lost cause trying to help someone off drugs, even worse if they are states away. Give up on it and all you can do is pray and continue making the attempt to get through her thick drug infested skull........You need to look after number 1 and that's you!!

wait for her to call maybe she needs time to sort out her problems. if you are worried that her husband is harassing her why don't you try to contact her family or friends who are in touch with her and find out that will solve your problem and give you some peace. Truly you are a very good friend. She is very lucky to have you and i am sure she realizes that

a good friend is never too late to call, if u feel she needs ur help remember the old days n go out of the way to help. . . . . . . . . at the max u end up making a fool of urself. but at the end of the day when u go to bed u will be happy that u did ur best.
