What are the best shoes (solid black) for a woman to use as a waitress?

My little sister is starting a job as a waitress and she's not sure what the most comfortable shoes are. Not too expensive. We live in Houston TX USA, if it matters. Would prefer something we could buy locally.

Well, it depends. Some jobs require their waiter/waitresses to wear non-slip shoes. In which case, you can buy those types of shoes at Payless or Walmart for about $30. If your work does not require non-slip shoes, then you should buy something comfortable such as tennis shoes, because you will have to be walking back and forth for numerous hours and it can be tiring if you were to wear something like high-heel shoes. industrial, no slip tennis shoes. they are sold at payless and walmart in the men's shoe section. they are about 20-$25 bucks. (get some gel insoles while you are at it. your feet will thank you) these are girls shoes by the way. look for the black and yellow station. (sorry can't remember the brand name but you shouldn't have a problem finding them)

but if she she wants to be cute [ like me ] on the job i would say flats like these

Shoes for crews, in my opinion are the best and most comfortable shoes for waitressing they also last the longest. You have to order them on line at shoesforcrews.com. Or you can either go to wal-mart or payless their shoes are decent. Just make sure that you get the ones that are slip resistant. Pleae what ever you do, do not let her buy shoes for cuteness just the slip resistant. There is always oil or water in the back of the house without those she would slip and fall all the time.

The best shoes I found to be is the candy for women, that's style 9036# because they are water resistance,slip resistance,genuine leather, comfort max insole,removable insole and also a 360 degree stitched down construction.

don't get old lady shoes, but then again don't go to heeled, because you carry things, and you could trip, and spill something hot (or cold) on your feet, and that brings me to my next point...no toes showing...good luck with that!!

I used to work at Applebee's and even though I was a hostess, I still had to wear non slip shoes because I still had to walk through the kitchen. Applebee's provided a catalogue of non slip black shoes you could order and they came in cute variations. However, they were expensive. (up to around $60!) I also saw black shoes sold at Payless made especially for restaurant servers. (They will have non slip written on the box)

i know alot of waitresses and waiters that get there shoes at walmart for work..... it is only for work.and they last for atleast a year .......... but whatever you get MAKE SURE THEY HAVE GOOD TRACKING ON THEM.... trust me.... you need it
