How to match a traditional Scottish Kilt with woman's wear and shoes?

I'm a female and is thinking about purchasing a traditional Scottish kilt.

pick out one of the more subtle colours and then wear that colour top and also choose some high shoes and a necklace becasue as kilts are more for men it will make it more feminine.

lol i had to wear a kilt as schoool uniform - so maybe i am biased against them.

A traditional scottish kilt should only be worn by men. You can however get nice tartan skirts designed for women, but the kilt is for men only!

i think the key is to keep all other clothing very simple, tartan has such alot of colours. I have bought my daughters red tartan kilts for Christmas and they are wearing black tops, tights and boots. I guess it would depend on the colour tartan you could always go onto www.kilts-are-us.com for ideas, they have lots of pictures of different designs etc.Happy shopping.
