How does a guy find and purchase woman's clothes for himself without getting to embarrassed.?

I am a cross dresser and in the past have purchased clothes, wigs and makeup over the internet but it sometimes doesn't work out and mail returns are a big hassle. I'd prefer to purchase them in person and hopefully try them on to avoid having to make returns. I am really scared about facing my fears but I am no longer inclined to hide since I am doing nothing wrong

Congratulations on coming to terms with your crossdressing. I know it is a HUGE step!

My husband is a crossdresser and he purchases his clothes at a local resale shop. But he does not try the clothes on for fear of what others may think. He just buys items that he thinks are going to by looking at them. Of course, he has almost a closet full of clothes and pretty much knows what size he wears.

You said that you are scared about facing your fears, but that you are ready to go the next step. Maybe you should start out by going to the part of your town that is more gay/lesbian friendly. I know that you probably are not gay, but those areas tend to be more open minded about that kind of thing. If you start there then you can gradually promote to the next level.

Good luck in your endeavors!

just be confidant !!!
screw them haters !!!

Let me put it this way. I buy clothe for my wife all the time. I don't get embarrassed at all.

But if you are 6' 1 and weight 210, it's not going to be hard for the clerk to realize the clothes are for you.

It's not the clerks position to question the clothes. You're the customer, don't explain and don't act embarrassed.

Sarge

their are 2 ways to do it.
first. go and make out the clothes are for your partner they should just take it all in nicely.
second. take a female friend with you and give her the money getting her to purchase them will allow you to feel guilt free.

trying on is a little harder. hmmm try taking a mixture of male and female clothes into the changing room with you.

generally be confident because theres a chance they could be used to this and so wont give any reaction off.

Go to a Unisex store. Example H&M, Express or The Gap. Get a mixture of both sexes. Then go into a dressing room and try thm on. For all they know you are shopping for your girlfriend.

Where I lived in Virginia. There was a store that sold cloths for men, that are womens cloths.
That is where my friend that was a cross dresser, went to buy his shoes, and stuff. I guess ask around you community maybe someone knows of a place you can go.

Just go in and do it! If you are "afraid" just say it's for a lady friend. :) Take your measurements at home. Go on line and convert them into women's clothing sizes. This should avoid the "hassle" of going into the stores and trying on the womens' clothing. Good luck!

to each his own i guess... but um if your not gonna hide anymore then why do you care, chances are people will like you more cause your being honest... dont worry if you dont feel like your doin anything rong than nobody else will and if they do WHO CARES?

Don't do but scine i want some points just use the self checkout.

I would get into womens cothing and go shopping that way. If you are ready then you should just do it. Maybe try picking out the clothing one day and then seeing if you feel okay trying it on. Go to a store that doens't monitor their fitting rooms so that you don't have to worry about funny looks at first.

i'm a woman so i would possibly know how it would be to shop for cross dressing chlothes.

you could say your part of a play group or somthing if you where in my store and told me that i wouldn't think twice i would probley giggle a little but no biggie

or just shop whose biz is it anyways you might not get that much of a reaction as you think maybe a few wierd glaces but nothing big

but if you hide then then your inviting trouble

most new age retro store are much more open minded try those first to ease into it

you could tey them on at the store like at a mall they always have a bazillion checkout centers then you could buy them at a diff counter than the place u tried them on at. most people would not assume they were for u. but i would have to say whenever i see a man dressed as a man you can kinda tell. I am really observant though not that i judge. what ever makes u happy ya know. how u dress does not afect me in any way to bad the rest of the world cant just see it that way....on a lot of issues. or you could just face your fears and try the clothes on then buy them there

If you are worried about what she thinks... Dont. I worked at a clothing store for 2 years and guys bought woman clothes all the time... you wont be the first im sure

No-one cares.
I buy girl jeans,tops,jewelry.
They just wanna sell the stuff.
They don't care about your gender.
It's all a design anyways.

people will probably just assume you are buying it for your wife or girlfriend. and even if htey do know that its for you- if that's really you, then why should you be ashamed? and like you said, its not like you're doing anything wrong, so, dont be embarassed!

You don't even have to pretend its for someone else. Look the clerk in the eye and ask for your size. If you accept who you are, other people will follow. Of course, there will always be the homophobic morons, but who cares about their neanderthal issues? Embrace who you are and have fun shopping!

You are not doing anything wrong so you just need to get over the fear. People may stare and whisper but just hold your head up and try ur hardest to stay positive and confident. As long as you're happy with yourself is all that matters.

try to be it and be all like ...yea its for my grl friend ..and somthing special coming up...or somthing

I just go to another suburb and go and get em, also go early in the morning too just when they open as there aren't as many people around

it works OK for me lol

lol. I'm not a cross dresser but one time I was buying women socks (Long story haha) but the cash register looked at me weird but then I thought to myself I'm never going to see her again so "Who cares what other people think?" I was actually buying the women socks one year for a halloween costume anyways.

PS- Plus I'm straight and any girl that knows me would know that.

HE DOESNT OR HES SERIOUSLY MESSED UP

Square you shoulders, lift your chin up, and if they stare, don't look away. Don't let ignorance and intolerance rule your life.
