What are some negative personality traits in a adopted person?

The individual inquired of is an adult, They do know they're adopted. They do not know of anything from their background from biological parents, including any medical family history. this individual has been raised in a very happy, loving ,adoptive family home. I am aware in older adoptive cases they were processed as sealed, the adoptee, could not, at any time, have information. Does this at times cause some issues for that individual, really not knowing who or where your from? May it also be a facet as to some personality traits in the negative, as to how they compensate over being adopted, Are they usually satisfied not knowing of anything from their background, despite of how they're raised in an adopted family?

I personally know my brothers and myself all adopted and loved!

We all wondered where we were from - There records were sealed and such. They found out some very INTENSE medical issues were known but not released as info to the adoptee family and in the end it really hurt them and the family to not be able to prepare for some terminal news.

Depression depends in part on personality and outlook of the individual. How the family responds to feelings of outcast or isolation will also affect the happiness of the person. Do they take offence at questions, do they encourage expressions of culture (especially when its different) - do they help with the seeking of answers or treat the person like they are an ungrateful wretch for wondering!

I am very much an adult and still wonder at some things!
It was hard in holidays even until I was married due to a nagging feeling that I was not really included, just a guest!

There is compensation that you do - overly passive somtimes, maybe even outwardly friendly to gain acceptance...personally we all hated rejection more than most seemed to mind. Some emotionally bottle up and we all know what that leads to...explosive!

No one wants to be without some identitiy and I think its important to at least know alittle about yourself. Ever watch the movie with the guy that grew up in his little world later finding out he is the Truman show dude...sigh It would deffinitly change my attitiude to be denied basic info as an adult.

Genetic testing is all the craze due to this NEED for info and roots. At least your gonna know alittle about your FOR SURE parents race AND not just what your told.
The conflicts that arise mostly stem from the passion and desire of the adopted to find info or some identity as they notice they are different and the parents feeling rejected or like they are not enough. Good families that stay strong and well bonded are shown to be those who talk about these things and are open to helping the child know about themselves in stages.

Hope this helps!

P.S. I still dont know much about my family but knowing alittle helps alot!
