How do older brothers feel when their little sisters start dating?

I have an older brother. I'm 13 and he's 15 and I have a new boyfriend and now my brother is really protective. Why is this?

I'm very glad I have him and I like how he is protective.

im 16 my brother is 18...
HES SUPPPER PROTECTIVE!!!
i think its kind of funny and i like that hes like that... it means he cares!
hes like that b.c he doesnt want to see his lil sister hurt

well he saw you grown up so he doesnt wanna see his lil sis with other guys than himself. dont worry he just needs 2 adapt to it

That's normal. My brother is 25 and when I talk to my guy friend on the phone, he'll ask someone how old the guy is.. and all that type of stuff. My sister is worse than him though. It's a protective thing.

because he loves you

I'm the youngest of 4 kids, 2 of them are brothers. All 3 of them have been very protective over me & each other. But, the big brother-lil sister realationship is different. And its kinda nice knowing I have them there. Guys that date you will know that they are around & to behave themselves with you. It can be a bit annoying at times tho. I am now 36 yrs old & happily married for 13 yrs. My bros let my hubby know from the start that if he hurts their lil sis he would be sorry. And he stuck it out for the long haul. I am still very close with them, & always felt safe knowing they had my back. The way things, and people are today, well its just a really scary world now. He loves you & just wants to make sure you are always safe. I can bet to say, that at one point in time you will be so thrilled he is there. And if the guy really likes you, he'll be ok with it.
Sometimes it'll be hard, but remember he loves his lil sis!
Good Luck!

Its because he dont want anything bad to happen to you.

My older bro didnt care much but his bestfriend (which is like my brother) was protective of me because he loved me like I was his little sis.

He just wants you to be safe. Just be glad you have a brother like that
