What are some ideas for my family to do tonight?

I would like to do something with my family (husband, 4 y.o. daughter, 2 y.o. daughter) tonight, but I'm not sure what to do. What do you suggest? (Keep in mind that it will be too cold to go outside.)

pile all your pillows and comforters on the floor in the tv room and have a pajama party, eat pop-corn and watch movies till you fall asleep

Have a picnic in the living or great room on the floor. everyone dress up for summer... Get some old small boxes and a large ball and play bowling on the floor.
Have treats for prizes for the children...
get a chair and bottle and have the kids try to drop clothes pins in the bottle while kneeling on the chair.
get some crafts together for them. cutting paper and drawing Halloween stuff or making cards for one another.
play cards, teaching them the numbers on their hand that you have dealt them.
Make macaroni necklaces....
paint up each others faces..
put on a puppet show.....

Bake cookies together. Both of you can make a dough for the cookies and kids can shape and decorate them. You can have these cookies later with a hot chocolate. While they are baking, you can play "Hide and Seek" together. Let kids hide first, and go look for them. Then, both of you can hide, and let kids to find you. (Just don't hide too well) . You can work on a family album project. Together organize your photos in an album nicely decorated by you. You can design and make picture frames for the kids' photos and decorate their room with them. You can build and paint a bird's house to place it outside. Or you can do the herb-garden project. You can start growing your own herbs, strawberries, or lemons inside your home. It will be very exciting for the kids to see it. If your husband likes spicy food, you can plant little chili peppers at home. Also, nothing brings family closer as cooking together. You might want to cook some unusual dish for dinner. And at last, simply enjoy your time being together.

go to Kidnasium or ChuckE Cheese.

Do family dinner. Last night I had my younger brothers help me with dinner and desert and set the table. They had a great time and we got to bond. Even the young kids can help somewhere in the kitchen! Its a fun experience and they'll get to learn something new! After wards, maybe rent a family movie and fall asleep on the couch.

using the internet, plan your next summer vacation

Read to your children. You and your husband can take turns reading them thier favorite books. Then have an ice cream party ,and curl up on the sofa and talk to them . It will be a warm and cozy family evening.

Make a theater like setting in your living room. Make fake tickets and everything. Rent some of you kids favorite movies, make popcorn and order pizza. Make it a movie night indoors. Your kids will love it. My mom did this for us kids when I was small and it was a blast.

go to the movies and see a kids movie... thats always fun. or go to the mall. or go to a toy store.

matchup with cards, basic connect four up and down not diagnal, making pictures of each other, baking with your own ingredients. good luck!

Board games, pictionary, charades, movie night

Play games. With this age group, simple guessing games like being an animal etc. Or get a video with one of those kiddie groups that have dancing and fun things that are interactive for the family. Talk, ask what their favourite things are, what they want to be when they grow up.When they are tired and go to bed, watch a movie and have a snack with your husband. Or talk, while you have some free time. Have a great night!

play a board game like candy land
finger paint lol

Bowling, making a homemade pizza together-then have a pinic on the floor, make cookies and decorate together, visit a pet store, have a taco bar....

candle light dinner and talk about plans for family that might tighten your relationship with each other.

Dinner and a movie! rent a movie or two and have a picnic dinner on the floor in front of the TV. Not too expensive, but fun!
