How many calories are in Chinese beef with broccoli over white rice?

In theory it doesn't seem as bad as fried appetizers and fried rice. But everyone says all Americanized Chinese food is terrible for you.

Those people are wrong. Lots of americanized chinese food is deep fried with heavy sauces, but beef with broccoli is actually one of the better choices.

a 16 oz serving has about 650 calories. That's a pretty big serving. Calorie estimates are very rough because places will have different ways of preparing it.

1 cup of plain, steamed rice is 170 calories

it can vary- but in general, the beef will be oil-blanched, that is, fried briefly in oil. The sauce has a lot of oil and sodium in it as well. One can make a healthy version of this at home - use a non-stick pan and cook the beef in a small amount of vegetable oil. For the sauce, use low-sodium soy sauce thickened with a cornstarch solution. Most chinese restaurants are not concerned with (your) health - they deep fry everything because they have to get the food out to your table quickly.

well americanized chinese food is not bad for yu but it doese contain more fat. they traditional food tastes a million times better so if you love americanized chinese try some traditonal chinese food! my favorite ever since i was littile is tomatoes stir fried with eggs over rice! it gets annoying sometimes because people just throw some meat and vegetables in a pan then add some "chinese sauce" but that doesnt make it chineses food all chinese food have a distinctive flavor made by all different ingredients. its just like how we eat ketchupin america it doesnt nesseccarily mean if we add some ketchup on a porkchop than its american food

I heard the same thing and it is true, but I don't know how many calories is in that dish but it is darn good. Don't worry about calories that much when your dish is balanced. A lot of calories in one meal doesn't hurt.

asmuch as a fat pig weigh
