What time would you have a adult cocktail party at on a Saturday Night? |
I am planning a holiday cocktail party in December what is a good time on a Saturday night. Also, any ideas for partty games I would say about 8 o clock unless it is before you go to dinner somewhere then it would need to be earlier say 6.30. I think 7-7:30pm is a good time for a cocktail party...this way your guests aren't there all night, and it's a good time of the evening to spend with friends and family. 8 onwards I've been having these parties every year and I find it doesn't matter much what time you start the party because people still expect to be feed good food. I've started them at 7 and I've started them at eight and I've even told people to have dinner before coming since this was a cocktail party and not a dinner party. I've also found most people do not want to play games, they just want music, food, drink and talk but it is a good idea to have some kind of ice breaker game if a lot of people do not know each other. I start this off first with a puzzle where everyone gets a few pieces of the puzzle and they have to find the people that have the rest of the puzzle that matches their puzzle. Just take a picture out of a magazine and cut it up, depends on how many people you are having you may want to have six to ten puzzles going. at9:00 It should be after dinner time, like around 8 or 9pm. You can have the normal cocktails available, but also have specialty dessert cocktails that can be premade for easy serving. For snacks you should limit it to cheeses and chocolates. Try www.cocktail.com, or www.allrecipes.com 8 is definately a good time to start drinkin and after everyone has had a few y not play twister? it's always fun :) If it's just for cocktails and hors deurve's I would suggest 5-7p that way if they want to go out for dinner after that there is still plenty of time.
