Is it OK to serve completely different foods at a dinner?

My husband invited people over for dinner, and I don't know how many. I have a roast I planned on starting, and planned on making bananna cream pie, but that will only be enough for about 2 or 3 people. I know he invited at least 3 but I fear more...Is it ok to make something in addition to this, or should I make somthing else instead?

It's always best expect for more people to arrive than have to order for pizza in the middle of your dinner! Lolz.

Go ahead and prepare more stuff, but make sure that the extras you prepare are things that can be stored in the fridge for the next week or next few days, just in case you did make too much.

Have you considered making perhaps a salad? Or crackers + cheese + olives for appetizers before you bring out the roast? Some cold cuts and vegetables on a platter? Fresh fruits and whipped cream, just in case the pie dessert isn't enough?

SURE IT IS, JUS GET SOME SHRIMP OR TROUTS ADD SOME POTATOS,CARROTS GREEN BEANS /PEAS
CORN ,BREAD AND MAKE IT A SURF AND TURF.
AND THE PIE ADD TO THE DISH STRAWBERRYS,BANANA WEDGES,NUTS ,CHERRYS,MAPLE-SYRUP !!
I LOVE 3-4 VARIETIES AT GET TOGETHERS
THEY KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING AND IT REALLY BREAKS THE ICE OVER THE WHAT THIS IS IT SYNDROME !!
THEY'LL ALL BE TALKING -BOUT YOU !!! ( NICE THING'S )

make something different. it would be very creative. you could even mix different foods like mexican, american, french. it woud be an easy way of geting cmplients. for deserts i would make 2 kind or three. As i said very creative.

If u think ur husband can invite more, make a different enough for 3 people. Even if only 3 ppl comes then u can use that dish for them. It will not get wasted

Sure it is ok to serve different foods with your dinner.
If you do not want to make another meat dish, be sure to serve of lots of side dishes such as potatos, several salads, hot veggies and bread.
For different meat dishes you could always stick a chicken in the oven to bake along side of your roast.

One pie should feed 6 people generously, and 8 if you serve a smaller slice to them.

As long a a meal is prepared with love, there will always be enough to go around.
