How can I get rid of this terrible smell that my dog has? |
My dog is a 4 year old minuature Doberman, she hates taking baths, but she smells terrible. I've tried using just about every kind of dog shampoo out there, is there anything I can mix or use that will work better? She has been rolling in something dead in my backyard and it's almost unbearable. Might be her anal glands need emptying. Have your vet or groomer teach you how. Clean up the dead animal in the yard. The first question a vet will have is this -- what is causing the odor? There are a multitude of shampoos out there, but if it isn't a skin or coat problem, shampoo won't help. Take her to a groomer. That is what they are for. Dogs like to do weird things like that...first of all, get rid of the "dead thing" so she doesn't roll in it anymore. Second, take her to a groomer for a bath. They have specialized shampoos that will deodorize the scent. I work as a bather in a Petsmart Grooming salon - call up your local Petsmart, petco, or grooming salon and see what it would cost for just a bath for your pup. Well first of all, dont let her roll in the dead animal. That would help. Most dogs breath also smells bad, you could try brushing her teeth a couple of times. My dog hates baths too, but they have to get used to it. I just put her in my bath tub and use human shampoo on her. It makes her coat really soft and she smells good for about a week. Just get rid of the dog :) lol I know how u feel my dog does that to but the best way to keep her from smelling is to train her not to roll in it well i would try to give it a bath and put some dog cologne or fragrance daily if that doesnt work try taking it to the vet.i would know because my do sort of has the same problem and the bath and fragrance always works or does the trick. Well - you probably want to go find the dead thing and get rid of it. (If you can't find it, take your dog for a walk - she'll help you!) There is no such thing as a minature Doberman.. It can only be a Min Pin, a Manchester Terrier or a German Pinscher.. I know this shounds bad .. but I am honestly telling u the truth .. when my dog gets sprayed by a scunk .. oh try to get that out .. douche my friend (yes the girl product) .. it works!! Try this.. http://www.take1products.com Best of luck;~) |
