What is the best way to cut chair cushion foam?

recovering dining room chairs and replacing the foam-it is 2 inchs thick-we have lots of rouch edges to smooth after cutting. Any suggestions on how to do that? Thanks!

and if you dont have an electric knife....

A hack saw blade cuts nice clean edges.

If you dont have a hack saw, just use a serrated blade where the length of the entire serrated part, is at least 2 or 3 times longer than the foam.

A bread knife? a bagel knife? foam is the same kind of consistancy-dont try a steak knife, only about half of the blade is serrated and the foam will pull and you could screw up or cut yourself. Good luck!

An electric knife will make smooth cuts very easily. You can also carve the edges down if need be. I have covered a lot of chairs, and it has always yielded good results.

I have found an electric kitchen knife works great. It might dull the knife, but they are not very expensive.

electric knife the kind that you would use in the kitchen

with an electric knife. I seen them on TV home improvement show. Then Marked out what they needed and then cut it. Looked simple to me.
