Does anyone know of a good website or book that offers ideas for decorating a studio?

I will be living in a room above a friend's garage for about 6 months, moving from a 2 bedroom house, and I will need some help putting it together so that I won't go crazy. Any ideas? I also have 2 mini dachshunds.

My favorite books on livable decorating with great practical and attractive ideas for any budget are the books by British designer Terence Conran. This one (about $12 by mail order) on small spaces is really good:

Check your local bookstores -- often his books are available in the discounted sections because there are so many of them. Might be some in the library, too.

Even if there is no IKEA store near you, you might check their website and order a catalog. They have great ideas for small spaces.
