What is the cheapest way to cover kitchen floor?

I have s sheet of laminated floor in my kitchen which need to be replace. I am on a tight budget. I like some ideas on what I can do with the floors, cheaply and still look stylish.

Cork Tiles

Have a look at cork tiles, they have come a long way from the old boring colours. The site below gives you a look at some of the colours and patterns they come in.

Not only do cork tiles look good, they are very to install yourself, they are cheap to buy and are very comfortable to walk on.

Try using the square tiles with the adhesive back. Home Depot have beautiful flooring and you would like the outcome.

cheapest : newspapers
second cheapest Vinyl Tiles.. you can get them for 99 cents/sq.ft. and its easy to install

The cheapest might be indoor/outdoor carpet and as for stylish, it comes in all colors. And it is also warm on your bare feet.

Well, if you are a do it yourself type...tile. Tile is durable and stylish. You can find tile to match your current decor and buy it on sale. Then, you research and install it yourself. It will take time and work, but I would say its your best bet bargain wise. Its not something that will have to be redone for years and looks better than anything else if you sell the home.

You might also want to get creative...use different tiles to make a border or center design. Sometimes, the cheapest tiles are on special because there is a limited quantity available. Making some design lets you buy more than one type of tile. On a HGTV show, I saw a brand/type of tile that looked like actual ceramic tile, even has strips that go between the pieces that look like grout.

I had the same problem when I moved into my current home. The vinyl flooring was absolutely horrid. We pulled up the lineoleum and replaced it with vinyl peel & stick tiles. They come in loads of designs. Some are even textured to look like stone. They are easy to install (directions on the box) and super cheap! We also did our basement in them. They are just as easy as linoleum to clean. The downside is that they tend to lose their luster after a while. However, if you're just looking for a quick fix to hold you over until you can afford the real tile, they are perfect.
