How do i pimp out my basement and make it a party basement?

Think about a plain, unfinished basement. Thats what my basement looks like, but i want it to be like a sweet party basement that i could invite my friends over to chill and stuff. Any ideas of what i could do? Items? Decorations? Please be long and detailed. Thanks

Get a tv, stereo, dvd player, xbox 360/Wii/PS 3 ect, and speakers and do a cool entertainment center.

Have lots of comfortable seating like couches and recliners facing the entertainment center.

Depending on your budget/resources get a foose ball table or pool table. Look at garage sales and on Craigs list to find some good deals on used ones.

Have a mini fridge (a must!) filled with your favorite beverages.

If you can, paint the walls and put up posters.

Get a big area rug if you have concrete floors to warm up the place and make it more comfortable.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

First, clean out any junk or trash laying around. Clean it up, dust it, clean out any cobwebs, just sort of tidy it up first. Then, get it carpeted. Paint a fresh coat of paint on the walls, you could do a fun soft orange sort of shade, or a neutral off-white color. Then decide what you want to do with the room. Do you want to make it a mini home theater? Or a game room?

For a mini home theater: Make sure you have lots of individual leather armchairs, or just one of those big L-shaped couches will do just fine as well. Put either a big screen TV, plasma screen, or get a projector that works with DVDs so you can play movies on the wall. (That way, you can save the trouble of trying to haul a big screen TV into your basement. Make sure you have 3-4 large speakers, depending on how big the room is. Put a potted plant in a corner, preferably behind the chairs, and, for a final movie theater touch, buy one of those old fashioned popcorn machines where you just buy kernels, season them, and pop them into the machine.

Game room: This one, all you really need are some colorful bean bag chairs, maybe a basketball hoop, and one of these: a Foosball table, an air hockey table, a pool table, table tennis table, or a pinball machine.

Either way, the room would be a really cool place to hang out. Good luck!
