How do you get rid of household ants such as Pharaoh Ants? Any home made bait or traps?

Knowing where the nest is and how they gained access to the house should be one part of your research.

With no offense meant at all I'm always bothered by what so many assume in the strict definition of BAIT. Most often poisoned food substances. Any food residue is most attractive to insect type critters; even when invisible to us. AND might continue to attract even new hatchlings.

I never tried this on ants; but since they have an exoskeleton; as Roaches do; and Boric Acid powder is most effective on Roaches; though not strictly a "poison" to them; you might try it. It is toxic to Human and animals mammals however. It's readily available in hardware stores Lowes; HD; some garden shops; and is relatively inexpensive as well as being easy to dispense in soft plastic bottles with nozzles.

Get some roman ants to chase their tails outta town.

Don't know what a Pharaoh Ant is, But in General with Ants (not Termites) mix 1 Level Tablespoon of Icing Sugar, I level Tablespoon of Baking Soda, Mix Very Well
.

Put out on small plastic lids that ants can easily climb on.
This mix will explode their guts, but won't hurt animals or kids.

Use as many lids as you need but lots are not necessary

I'd try corn meal ants eat it and digest it
