How do you replace a control board on a window unit air conditioner? |
Took my window unit air conditioner, Kenmore model # 580.76129300, to sears repair shop. They said it was a bad control board. What is the control board and where can I buy one, so I can try to fix it myself? They told me it would cost $280.00 to fix it for me. Could buy a new one for that! Yes, buy a new one. The chances of getting a good control board that fits are very small. If it isn't under warrantee, then after you repair it, you have an old unit with an expensive new board in it. Too bad I was slow to this one. The part is about $28 dollars from Sears.com one screw and 7 of cables to remove. Total time 10 min. Report Abuse |
