How do you spray texture a ceiling without spilling texture out of the hopper?

I have experience texturing walls with a spray hopper and compressor. I can't figure out how you would spray vertical without your texture mix oozing out. There are places on ceilings where you couldn't hold your gun at 45degrees. Any suggestions on technique is what I am looking for.

Marshalltown,Goldblatt and Wallboard brand hoppers sell an off angled attatchment that you can buy.It clamps to the hopper and to the gun. What it does is allows you to shoot texture vertically and sets your hopper at an angle to where you don't get spillage. You can find it online. It should fit most brand hoppers it attatches with "C" clamps. Two minutes to install and you are spraying.

For cielings, a totally different gun is used. Basically the hopper is at a 45 degree angle from the gun, to help contain the mix. Normally, you would shoot the ceiling at a near 45 degree angle from the center towards the walls.

WHY CANT YOU HOLD IT AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE????

It ain't easy.
You might have to do some of the ceiling with a 'looped' roller.
Have yu ever looked into using the setup that does not use a hopper? The mix is carried in a tub on the unit and just sprayed on. There's a little more equipment clean up involved.
