How to change white fabric to a cream or off-white color? |
I didn't realize the cotton fabric I bought would be so bright white. Is there a way dye it a cream color? Would tea staining work, or would it be uneven throughout? Does tea stain wash out? I would try tea. Mix well, and make sure you take the tea out of the water before you put your fabric in. Use a large container and keep moving the fabric to even out the color. It will be lighter when it dries. Keep checking the color and leave it in as long as necessary to get the color you want. RIT has a whole lot of different colors to dye in your washing machine. I was also going to suggest tea. but you'd have to use an awful lot of tea and lots of water and keep mixing it to keep it even. |
