How can I make a wine bottle into a centerpiece?

I know there is a way to do this and some you might have some really good ideas if you have pictures that would help. I thought I would use this idea from my friend's wedding. But I have no idea where to get started.

I've been searching online and found these cool ideas..... spray the bottles with black chalkboard paint then personalize with the wedding dates, etc...or leave them blank and leave chalk on the tables to have the guests write a special note to the bride and groom. http://www.lifehacker.com/software/decor...

or if you are an artist, you could paint the bottles....
or you could decopage them with photos of the couple

Depending on the bottle, if it is colored, I'd use some of those glow sticks that you can pick up anywhere these days. You could use hot glue to add floral decorations strategically onto the bottle and as a base. You can get all sorts of silk flowers from hobby lobby, use fake ivy etc, Maybe even fake grape leaves too, Find out what will go with the colors and work from there.
If you go with the fake grape idea, make sure they match the wine type...you wouldn't use reds, for a white wine bottle. Glue leaves to the bottle, so that when you drop the glow stick in, you see a glow, not a glowing stick in the bottom of the bottle.
