Would it be a lot more expensive to build a house using post & beam or timber framing?

I asked a question before about barn conversions, but it sounds like it could be more trouble than what it would be worth.
Although, I still love the look of the post & beam and timber framing.
Would the price of materials for post & beam or timber framing be more expensive than materials for stick framing?

Yes, post and beam or timber framing is more expensive and there are limited people who contract to build homes in that style.

Assuming you are talking about the inside look, you can still get the look of post and beam if you choose to. It would add some to the cost but not to the extent of a full post and beam house.

I would think there are all ready plans with this look available but you may have to spend some time looking for them.

Of course you can also hire a someone to do that kind of interior design for you.

yes they would post and beam is much thicker and heavier wood it would be alot more exspensive to build your house that way.it is alot stronger.why don't you call a contractor and get some estamates on what you are asking this way you get the right quotes.
