What is the best way to restore my leather couch color? It is fading and wearing off?

I need to find a color matched chemical or rubbing coumpound that will allow me to restore it. I know it won't be a perfect restoration, but it is worth a try..

first get some saddle soap and clean the whole thing. That in it's self will restore some of the color due to the conditioning properties of the soap. let it dry. than get shoe polish as close as you can to the original color.( try taking a snip of leather from the bottom frame area) You might be lucky to find it in a shoe department of your local "buy anything here" store but if it is an off color take the sample leather swatch to a shore repair shop. they will match the color for you! after applying color let it dry than rub the whole couch down with neetsfoot oil. that will seal in the color and protect as well

If you're looking for the color go to a shoe store like shoe carnival or walmart... find a shade that matches your couch perfectly.. and that will be the color your looking for; or even take a look through a hardware store -lowes, home depot- and search through the color pamplets/cards. when you find the shade it will make it loads easier to find a stain/rub to fix your couch. THEN go to a big departmant and funiture store to find them. i have seen a few at big lots and walmart.

At most auto part stores can buy vinyl and upholstery color- - it's actually in a spray can, like paint. It was around $4.95 a can 2 years ago

Shoe polish works well and comes in liquid, creams and wax to match almost any color. I would seal it afterward with a Guardsman sealer and protector afterward. It would help to clean the couch first to remove surface dirt and restore the color before you restore the worn area. You can use any leather cleaner, but Jubliee works well and is inexpensive.
