There has got to be some way to MAKE a solap panel, right? |
The kind that convert light into electricity. I understand that several formulas are patented and copyright protected, but that doesn't mean they're the only way or that a modified formula wouldn't be possible. What can they be made of and where can it be gotten? Photovoltaic panels use silicon to generate a charge. I have been considering trying to make some myself. I thought they were made by aliens, but I think Dr.Dirt has got it. well this may sound silly, place a glass panel, over a 5 gallon plastic bucket of water, in direct sunlight, drill a 1\4 inch hole at the top of the bucket, run a tube to a small steam engine , connected to a small generator, the steam from the heated water will turn the engine, and thus turn the generator, which will produce electricity, probaby has no use at all, but would make a good conversation piece, I think diy photovoltaic is a bit ambitious, but harnessing the heat from the sun to partly raise the temperature of water behind glass has probably got a lot of possibiliities. |
