What would i have to do to install shower heads on both sides of a tub/shower combo?

The idea is to replace a shower over tub combo and make it into a 2 person shower without a tub. I would prefer they had the same water pressure and capabilities. what would this job entail? would it be easy for the builders to do it if we were having a new house built? would they probably charge me to do that? how much? what would be the best materials to surface the shower with such as tile or marble or whatever?

Since converting the tub to a shower would mean the wall would be down to the studs, it would be a simple procedure for a plumber to run new piping for another shower head. However the available water supply may not allow both heads to run at the same time, which means you would need to install a diverter valve to control which head would be on. You need to determine how much water you have(GPM) to use and divide by the GPM of the heads you plan to use. Unscrew showerhead and time how long it takes to fill a 1 gal. container(10 seconds=6GPM) Cost would be about $500 per valve for labor in our area. Surface material could be solid surface(Corian/Mystera/Swanstone) -No seams/non pourous/renewable/pricey. Natural stone-minor seams/needs some maintaince/pricey. Tile-need maintaince/many joints/cheap to pricey Acrylic kits-minor seams/cheap/looks cheap
