How do i get rid of pesky ants in my room?

i've looked all over the internet for help but havent found any. they are in my room in between a lower crown molding and my wall, so far i've just squished all the ones i can find. i cant use any chemicals because i have two cats and two dogs, i also sleep three inches from where the colony is cowardly hiding. (tough luck right?) please help i need an answer on how to kill hidden ants. thanks for anyhelp i can get.

there small black maybe brown ones, can i spray windex in between the molding and wall evenif i cant see there nest exactly, i think bleach is too harsh for around where i sleep and animals are.

i found spraying windex or ant traps work

Use bleach it is the only safe thing I have found works every-time.

If they're just "regular" little tiny ants, bleach will kill them on contact. You can follow them around until you determine where their little holes are, squirt dry boric acid into those and then caulk them shut.

If they're carpenter ants (big black ants) you might need to check out the construction there for water leaks and so on, and poison the nest(s) directly.

Get some 20 Mule Team Borax (laundry soap section in grocery store) mix up 50 / 50 Borax and powered sugar, sprinkle around edge of room. Borax is a natural product OK around cat and dogs as well as us. The ants carry it home and die, it take about 2 weeks to work. Plain Borax around foundation works for roaches and all 6 legged pests, keep away from plants though.

there are sprays that you can use,we had ants in our kitchen,go to wal=mart to the garden center and ask them ,i just can;;t remember the name ,but i know it's in a white spray bottle

You could take lemon juice in a bottle and spray in the area's that have the ants. That should help get rid of them. Thats what I use in my kitchen when I get them, and always seems to work great, and not going to be harmful for your animals.

use insect repellent
