How much would it cost to install a tank of sharks underneath a meeting room?

I have a meeting room where I convene with my associates. I would like to install a tank directly below the table and seats, big enough to contain three or four man-eating sharks.
Has anyone any experience in such an installation and what costs am I looking at?

the main thing to consider is the structure, and ongoing costs.

Can you fit a large tank with several thousand litres of water, a few hundred kilograms of sharks and a dynamic load.

Say your meeting room is 10m x 5m, you will want maybe 3m of depth for the sharks. this will give them 150m^3 of water.

Now the tank: it's not as simple as just digging a hole. You will need to put in a concrete reservoir under your meeting room, then reinstate the floor and probably the roof too.

you will need to get a digger of some sort in, concrete pouring, a builder, a painter.. I'd say $100,000+, in addition to losses due to your meeting room being out of action for a good 2-3 months.

On top of that, you will need to source some sharks, transport them in safely.

Your ongoing costs will be maintenance of the tank, the pump, filter, salt, food will be a biggy and finally you will have some sort of insurance liability for storing 3 or 4 deadly killers under your floor.

I'll raise my estimate to $150k+ for the set up, then add $30k per year for ongoing costs.

hahahahaha, this is a great question and answer. Love it! Report Abuse

i saw this as a featured question and damn, this answer is hilarious! :D Report Abuse

You are looking at anything upwards of 25k depending on the design, plus you would need planning permission,

The main problems you will find are, running costs, electrical maintenance for trapdoors etc, a cheaper alternative is a smaller piranha tank or just an acid bath

Darling, how unfashionable! We simply have our henchmen to drag the unwanted visitor kicking and screaming to the next room where he meets his fate fist fighting an enormous and hungry american black bear. I find that the sound of grown men screaming and the horror on the faces of his associates as they see their friend ripped to shreads and eaten - well... it was rather exciting to say the least. Although, we still have our old trap door to the shark tank still operatable - I believe that my husband blackmailed a certain young gentleman and we received this tank as a gift... it was fun while the fashion lasted. Ta ta darl'in

Well Sir,It's your lucky day.My company has built three of these sales inspiring rooms in the last three months. One for the Clinton think tank meeting room, one for an up coming Bond flick and one under Michael Vicks dining room. The costs come in just under 2mill,but hey it's just money!

well my m8 james bond he knows someone who had it done he rekons about 35 grand without the sharks

a lot. i tried it once but got sacked when one ate my colleague. shame, but kinda worth it!

Oh, I did that: an excellent idea.
When I thought of sharks, my favourire Building Society came to mind SO I just got their sponsorship.

One Million Dollars.....No Wait....100 Million Dollars !

Rather depends. If you want the deluxe sliding floor model - or just the tip-back mahogany chairs that deposit the victim down a stainless steel chute into the tank.

Similarly, are we looking at Great White sharks - or something a little easier on the pocket such as Tiger sharks? I should think a budget or around 拢250,000 would be realistic with annual maintenance costs of around 拢30,000.

I am in your area on Mondays if you'd like me to pop in and measure up.

It would be much cheaper just to fire your associates, or perhaps to buy them out.

The remotely-operated trap doors underneath the conference room seats will really drive the cost up.

I bet you want frickin' lasers on their heads too.

I think you are just joshing us, right? If you were serious, I would definitely advise you not to use metal in the tanks as the sharks will bump their heads.

Is this serious lol? =\
I bett it will distracct ones attention away from the meeting :)
x

LOL :) Id say it would cost about $5000 . Maybe you could get a second hand one from a commercial bank. They use them a lot these days to absorb each other :)

Are you serious? I wouldn't do that!
