What's the cheapest method to protect a gas meter in my driveway? |
I saw that commercial removable bollards are anywhere from $300 to $800, and that is way more than I want to spend. Are there any solutions for less than $100? I neglected to mention that it is an asphalt driveway, and also, our local energy provider claims that it is not their problem. Dig 2- holes to accomate 2- 4" post. 1 on each side of meter. must be 2' deep. Heigth is ur call. Should be at least 4 ft high from the dirt. So u need to buy 2- 6'x4" steel post. Get that at fencing company. and enough cement to fill the hole. Should be less than $100 if u DIY. i agree with moon j, i had to do this at my first house.however, i went to a scrap yard and got some 4" pipe, pretty cheap, and dug the holes. a gas-powered post-hole digger works great, but you'll have to get the blacktop out of the way. do some diy and build a cement barrier or a fence bbtu it would be better to ask ur energy providor to move it as "it could lead to catastrophic disaster and if anything ever happened you would file suit |
