How to improvise a table for a Thanksgiving dinner?

I live in an on-campus apartment on the 13th floor. I'm having about a dozen ppl over and I would love it if everyone could sit at the same table. I have enough room to set up a table that big, but no idea how to improvise one without having to buy one and truck it home on public transportation (which I'm pretty sure would be next to impossible) Thanks so much!

buy a sheet of ply wood at the hardware store. preferably 3/4 inch thick. You could then prop it on end tables or get another one and cut it in half, run a 3/4 inch groove half way down each of the pieces and use this as a table base. The dudes at the hardware store should be able to advise you and or cut it for you!! This would then be a disposable table or you could keep it or give it to someone else.

Go to the store and buy a book on magic. Then before the meal you can just cast a spell and have everything float in front of your guests. I think it will be a big hit.

Card tables

BUy one or two at a time if you need to bring home with you on the bus.

You will need about six of them. Line them up three to a row and you should be able to seat your guests. If you have the rrom and want to give a bit more elbow room, buy 8 and put 4 to a row.

Buy a big enough piece of felt to cover the tables together and then cover with your table cloth.

It should look awesome and the tables are very sellable once you are done with them, and if you keep them, they are easily stored away in the back of closets or under beds.

Remove your door and place it on some end tables or chairs. You can just sit where the door knob is as not to inconvenience anyone else.

Rent one, and have it delivered.
