What's a good way to get a pair of shoes down from a telephone wire? |
Some punk just threw a pair of sneakers over the wire right in front of my house. The quality of this neighborhood is steadily declining, and nothing says "ghetto" like a pair of freakin' sneakers dangling from a wire. Any tips on getting them down? Hey Greencreeper, is that a pirate get-up your avatar is wearing? You do understand that the gay community long ago coopted the whole pirate theme, don't you? I work for the electric company. Please, please, please do not try to get the shoes down yourself. You may think you are being safe, but we had a guy get electrocuted while wearing all his safety gear and rubber gloves. There was a pin sized hole in his gloves and that's all it took. stick a 20 dolar bill in em in plain view can you climb the pole? dosnt it have little latter step things in the side. then shimmy and throw your shoes down and go back. or you could call someone with a crane or lift. or just go buy some new shoes at payless. or wear no shoes. If in the country you could shoot the string with a gun. Get a long pole and poke at them until they come down. Use a metal pole if possible. I hate when people do that it is so stupid. I just had that problem a couple weeks ago. I use a old flagpole to unhook them. First if you are going to do that get a light pole or alot of people to help you. If they are close to a buliding use a ladder, or you could get the firemen to do it for free. But if you do it with the ladder becareful don't to get hurt.Or you could call the telephone company, and say "oh, can you remove those tennis shoes from the phone lines?" The last way is if they are close to a buliding window just ask if you can go inside to get them off. I hope they come out and good luck. First, make sure it is in fact just a telephone wire and not 1000 volts of electricity! Then if it's close enough to the pole you can slide them close to the pole with an extended paint roller handle. Two poles holding the ends of some scissors. Just cut the laces - but watch yer head. send a cat up after them LOL Please DO NOT use a metal pole, or place a ladder anywhere near the wire. Electricity can arc several feet, and nothing says ghetto like a dead body in front of your house. Could you call the telephone company, report a problem with your line... keep calling and complaining until the show up at your residence... then say "oh, by the way, can you remove those tennis shoes from the phone lines?" ask a giant (someone with giantism) to get them for you. Yes i am serious. I am 6' 2'' and im 13. i don't have giantism though. okaay? lol who did it to you LMFAO..Well if there Old or Ugly sneeks FOR GET ABOUT IT..But if there Good , Clean NEW sneekZ.....Tie A Knife A Sharp One, Around A Poll you find some where And Slowly Push up the poll to the Sneeker and Cut the Sneeker String Or get one Of those Mango/Coconut cutters and pull/CUT it down... Go to home depo if u don't have one .....! (don't Try a broom Stick, Mop, Or branch Its Not Gonna WORK!) trust me get a lasso.... lol well ya could use a ladder but it will b probaly pretty hard so im not shure. or u could use a long pole i suppose Call the Phone Co. and tell them you are having interference on your phone, ever since some kids threw shoes on the wires . Or you can try throwing a big ball at them, in hopes that you can undo them. that's all I could come up with If it's bugging you that much tape a really sharp knife to the end of a pvc pole and cut the string. Ph the electric company. If u try ZAP i work for a mid size telecommunications company in the repair department. we would much rather come by with a bucket truck and remove the shoes than read about you in the obituary column the next day. most people can not distinguish between power and telephone lines. please. please call your telephone service provider. |
