How can I collect recyclables in an apartment?

I've been collecting all our cans and other recyclables in my apartment but they seem to overwhelm the space. Can't just throw them outside like a house. Any ideas on how to manage it? Thanks.

I'm assuming you don't have a garage... What I did when I was in that situation was I had another garbage can for crushed cans which I had to store in the closet next to the vacuum but no one looks in there anyways, and then I had a paper grocery bag under the kitchen sink where guests & myself could just throw the cans to be crushed later. Also If you buy cases of beer keep the boxes and as you finish them put the empty bottles back in the case as they were before, you can stack quite a few of these boxes in the closet as well... You will still have to make frequent trips to the recycle place but hopefully this will help...

make is asart in out your graden

Different small trash cans in the laundry area. Easy to use. You just have to compact them often. (As with anything in an apartment.)

Thanks for recycling! Keep it up!

Your community should have recycle laws in place, so in turn the apartment complex or your landlord are required by law to provide recycle bins that are usually handled by whatever company does the garbage.
If there are'nt laws in place, ask your local town hall officials what you can do, maybe you can even start a movement in your community & make everybody more aware & responsible!
Good luck!! Stay green!!

we have a small place too, about a week is the max for storing, you gotta compact the stuff if possible, and stack it tightly.
