Is there a difference between satin and semigloss in a spray paint? |
I did a comparison and don't see any difference. They are two different brands of spray paint and was wondering if it is just another way of labeling? There is (in my opinion) a huge difference. There is one more you need to know about. It is eggshell and makes a very nice finish for interior woodwork. It really hides imperfections in the wood. Satin paints have a duller sheen. Semi-gloss are, as the name implies, more glossy. Yes, there is a BIG difference. Usually the satin is slightly less glossy. At least that has been my experience with spray polyurethane. It could be that two different manufactures label their products differently (one as a satin and one as a semi-gloss) but the products don't differ much in sheen. |
