What is a cheap way to shade a conservatory roof?

We have been quoted 拢4,000 to fit roof blinds in the conservatory, how can we fix shading without paying the earth?

i work in a fabric & interior shop. many people buy voile (it's a bit like plain net curtains, but comes in so many different colours). costs from about 99p a metre. you just fix it to the centre of your roof, and drape them towards the sides.

Paint the glass with black paint. Cost - a few pounds. Might not look very nice though.

You could always buy the blinds and fit them yourself.

Buy shade cloth. Like screening but has varying percentages of sun blockage

you can get a sun reflecting adhesive film to stick on the inside panels of the roof, quite reasonably priced on ebay, sorry can't remember what its called though
