Condensing kits that go on the end of a normal vented tumble dryer - how do these work, and how good are they?

I.e. Is it best to vent a normally vented tumble dryer? Are there any consumables involved, are there any side effects etc? Where does all the water / steam go?

these basically condense the water vapour from the clothes and turn it back into water
you have to empty it regularly
side effects a damp room
I had one and found it useless unless you have a way of cooling it so the water vapour condenses
it's easier to vent the hose outside then mother nature will do it for you

Hay, yes it is best to vent to the outside of the washroom, find a hard ware store where the hoses, normally 2 types, plastic and or metal. Be sure to purchase a hose clamp for both ends... These should be removed a couple of times a year to clean out the lint build up which has been known to get hot enough to ignite....I've never seen it happen, but error on the safe side, I have herd stories....Good Luck...

the water is condenced and drips in to a bowl
which you have to empty now and again
perfectly safe

There is a curly pipe inside (like the one inside a freezer) that gets really cold so the water vapour sticks to it like condensation on a cold window. When there is a lot of condensation on the pipe, it drips down into a container which you empty when it gets full. It's that simple.

i dont know how thay work but thay are good

do you mean the ones that cost about 拢15 u seless you are better fitting onne or buying a tumble dryer with a built in condenser which you just empty every few times you use the tumble dryer as for fitting a vent you can buy a kit from screwfix.com.uk and all you will need is a hammer and bolster or a drill to fit the vent cover to the outside wall as i say if you havent purchased a tumble dryer yet its worth getting one with the built in condenser for the extra few quid good luck whatever your choice
