Can i install a pumped electric shower straight to cold water main?

we have poor pressure and flow, and have seen these triton t90 pumped showers, but not sure if they are just for tank fed systems,we have a normal electric shower installed at the moment straight off the main, but poor pressure/flow causes problems .thanks.

The Triton t90 MUST be fed from a cold water storage tank.

Get a plumber to run a dedicated supply from your tank to the Triton.

In law ,it is not allowed to be done.
If you pump the mains, you run the risk of causing NEGATIVE pressure in youir neighbor's house, which means that when they open a tap (faucet) there will be an inrush of air, instead of water out.
If they had a hose running into a dirty recepticle, the dirty water would enter the mains causing a heal;th problem.
The worst scenario I can think of is if their shower attachment is lying in their bath water, you would end up with their bath water instead of clean water.

To " davey t " I think you doubt what I have just written, it happens and I speak from experience, Scenatio ..... 5 Victorian terrace houses built in 1885 in a private avenue with one service pipe for all 5 houses. On smart guy decides to pump the supply and hey presto sucks out the child's paddeling pool !!!!!!!!!

NO.....the water pressure will seriously EFF the pump up...BTW the law says its NOT allowed..

install a mixer shower to a combi boiler, that'll give you a real shower.

Power showers are really noisy.

xenon is essentially correct, i dont know about the 'as usual' though.
it is against the water regs to pump mains cold water without permission of the local water provider. there are ways and means but they will cost and take up space, provided you get permission beforehand.
the easiest way is to pump from the tank in the loft and the hot cylinder, stable pressure and flow

if you dont have a combi boiler it will only cost about 拢2500 to convert assuming its the right type for your house, what an excellent solution - not
power showers can be a bit noisy, good externally pumped ones are not

connect it straight to the mains ...it will work really well ..i have a home in the Pyrenees.and being up high we had poor water pressure ..but a pump direct on to the mains soon sorted that problem out ..the flow rate is more than 200%.......as for that answer from xenen..what a prat !
