How do you open a front loading dryer to change the belt? |
I need help right away. The maytag people will not give out this info, they want you to pay for their services! Disconnect the power. then look at this link for more info. Pull it away from the wall and take the back off. You will have to disconnect the gas line, but it is a relatively easy job to replace that belt. It surrounds the drum. Depends on the model. If there's a seem along the top it will pop off if you pry it up.Some can be accessed from the under side.Just tip it over on it's front or side. take the cover off. look in the manual for screw locations. every dryer is different, but there is probably a few screws that keep the cover on. as soon as you take this off, you will see the belts. the top will lift up. Then remove about 6 screws on the inside front and lift up the drum. |
