How do you plumb in a Sink from 2 Taps to a new Sink with a Mixer Tap?

The sink is already in the worktop but i need to know how to disconnect the sink i have which is the 2 tap one and plumb in the new one with a mixer tap.I need to know if its safe and simple to do and a kind of step by step way that you can help me with. There is a green and yellow long wire-whats this for?

the simple answer is this even though it only has one faucet
the part that goes under think has two pipes coming from it
so when you have discconected your two taps you just connect the two pipes you have disconnected to your single tap pipes under the sink it does not matter which pipe goes to any connection. the wire as to be connected to earth which can be done by buying a earth strap or they maybe one already fitted take the wire out and connect the wire that is hanging from your new taps. now you have read all that pick up a phone book and telephone a plumber a plumber can complete the job in ten mins max and save you a lot of bollocks

YOu should have all of the same things there except the faucet is now more compact. Both hot and cold are there still and are still at the wall too, so yu just connect them as you would a regular faucet.
As for a wire, you need to look up the manual or box to see if there is some ground needed or if there is a filter sensor light. It could also be for those type sinks that you don't have to turn on, you just put your hands in front of a sensor.
YOu will need to have a manual if it is one of those

The green and yellow wire is the earth, that is now a legal requirement, but i wont go into that, and if you do not understand that first part then you should call a plumber. to change the taps you do need special tools or you wont be able to tighten up the new tap, have you seen those taps that when you turn the tap on the entire tap moves that's what will happen and the bigger problem with that is every time the taps move the fixings underneath stand a chance of coming loose and hey presto "flooding" that will cost more to fix than the price of a plumber in the first place.
