How to drill a hole in a porcelain-enameled cast iron kitchen sink?

Has anyone successfully drilled a hole for a soap dispenser in a porcelain enameled cast iron sink? It would need to be about 11/2" diameter. I can't imagine it's easy even if it can be done.

go to wally mart and buy a plastic soap dispenser and place it next to the sink
if you cannot afford to buy a sink with the built in hole, what makes you think you can make a hole in something with no experience?

go to home depot and buy a vari-bit or a step bit in plumbing or elecric. make a 1/8" pilot hole with titanium or cobolt bit. go slow with your step bit and keep it cool with anti-freez or wd40. i have drilled hundreds this way!
