Which is the most effective way to remove old bath sealant? |
The sealant is mouldy and coming off in parts, but some areas are quite tough to remove just by scraping. you can buy stuff in homebase focus or BQ that will remove it without the use of a staney knife you just put it on in the same way as you would a sealant and it eats away at it then after the specified time you just wash it down with warm soapy water It should come off with a sharp craft/Stanley knife. I always cut it out with a sharp stanley knife. silicone eater from screwfix.com There is a device sold by JML (I think, or another of those people that have a video loop running in Woolies). I t is specially shaped to run along the crevice and scrape it off without scratching the bath. Saw it and didn't buy it but now wish I had because I have a similar problem. Thanks for reminding me. Try using a window scrapper available from wilkos, the sort you would use to take paint off glass. |
